Glans filler

Filler in the head of the penis, to make it fuller and keep it in proportion with a thicker shaft. It typically takes 15 to 20 minutes under a local anesthetic and lasts three to six months.

Do you need it?

Usually not. Shaft filler adds girth in proportion, and most men find the head looks right afterwards without any treatment of its own. That is why doctors usually suggest doing the shaft first and deciding about the glans once you can see the result, which you and your doctor can decide at the same visit.

The men who go ahead mostly want a fuller, rounder head, or feel the proportions are off after shaft filler. If you would rather have the glans done on its own, ask your doctor; the main thing to weigh is that it does not last as long.

How it is done

It uses the same hyaluronic acid filler as the shaft, which is FDA-approved for cosmetic use in the face and used off-label here. The glans is denser than the shaft, so the filler is usually placed with a fine needle rather than a cannula, after the area has been numbed with a local anesthetic block. The head is more sensitive than the shaft and you may be more aware of it, but the numbing makes it very manageable. It typically takes 15 to 20 minutes, and afterwards the usual aftercare applies: one week without sex, and a follow-up visit is available at no extra charge if you want or need one.

How long it lasts

Three to six months, compared with about two years in the shaft. The head has a rich blood supply and moves more, so the body absorbs the filler faster there. Like any hyaluronic acid filler, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you do not like the result. Full list of risks and complications →

What it costs

Glans filler is priced by volume, like the shaft, and can take up to 4 ml. The least you pay is the Large package, $4,200 for 6 ml, which typically includes the consultation and a follow-up visit if you need one. If the glans needs less than that, the rest stays on your file as credit toward a later visit; the credit does not expire, but it is not refundable or transferable. All packages · Financing

Risks

Glans filler shares the shaft procedure's risks: swelling, soreness, some unevenness, a small lump. One matters more here. The head of the penis has a dense, delicate blood supply, and filler placed into or against a vessel can block it. That is rare and it is an emergency, which is why the doctor watches for it and knows how to treat it. Call your clinic straight away if pain gets worse instead of better, if the skin looks white or dusky, or if the head goes numb.

Extremely rare: filler reaching the lungs (pulmonary embolism) — see all the risks →
